The TOPGREENER TDOS5-JD Motion Sensor Switch is an innovative dual load sensor switch that allows for the simultaneous control of two fixtures, making it perfect for coordinating both lights and fans or for other dual load applications. This device serves as a straightforward replacement for any indoor wall switch, automating the operation of lights and fans depending on the motion detected within the room.

Underneath the device’s face cover, users will find the programming controls, which include a sensor range dial, a time delay dial, and a mode switch. The sensor switch features three operational modes: Dual Occupancy (OCCD), Single Occupancy (OCCS), and Dual Vacancy (VACD). In the default OCCD mode, both connected loads activate automatically when someone enters the room and deactivate when it is empty. The OCCS mode functions similarly but applies only to the primary load. In contrast, the VACD mode necessitates manual activation of both loads, which will then turn off automatically after a user-defined period of vacancy, adjustable between 15 seconds and 30 minutes.

It allows for manual control of the loads through buttons on the switch face. The device boasts a maximum detection range of 40 feet in front and up to 20 feet on each side, with adjustable sensitivity settings of 30%, 65%, or 100% of the maximum range. The Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor provides a 180° field of view and is optimal for covering areas of up to 1200 square feet. For optimal performance, installation height should be between 4 to 5 feet, ensuring that the sensor is positioned away from furniture or other obstructions.

The motion-sensing switch also contributes to energy conservation and cost savings by preventing lights or fans from being left on inadvertently. This makes it particularly advantageous for spaces frequently accessed with hands full, such as entryways, closets, laundry rooms, kitchens, garages, and bathrooms. Additionally, the switch is UL listed and complies with Title 20 and Title 24 regulations.

One notable feature is the walk-through function, which turns off the lights 2½ minutes after the initial motion is detected, provided no further movement is registered within 30 seconds. Furthermore, the three operational modes—Occupancy sensor mode (OCCS), Dual occupancy mode (OCCD), and Vacancy sensor mode (VACD)—allow users to customize settings according to specific needs. Time delay options can also be adjusted between 15 seconds (for testing), 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 30 minutes; changing modes is done easily via the OCC/VAC switch located under the device's face.

The device is crafted in white and suitable for both residential and commercial applications. With a maximum coverage area of 1200 square feet and a 180-degree field of view, it operates without requiring a neutral wire, though a ground wire is necessary. It supports an operating voltage of 120/277VAC at 60Hz and has ratings of 800W for incandescent/halogen, 150W for LED/CFL, and 1/4HP for motors. The device functions efficiently within a temperature range of 32 to 131ºF and is designed as a single-pole unit, measuring 2.5 inches in width, 4.5 inches in height, and 2.5 inches in depth.
